NEW DELHI: A man and his father have approached the Delhi High Court seeking protection, alleging they were threatened by his estranged wife and her family.
Judge Neena Bansal Krishna, after hearing the arguments of the plaintiffs’ lawyer, entered the plea for a continuation of the proceedings on July 21.
The plea filed by the man and his father, residents of Najafgarh here, claimed they were threatened by his ex-wife, sister, brother and sister-in-law who had also repeatedly tried to break in at the applicants’ premises. .
The petitioners asked for protection and also for a directive that no one should interfere in their peaceful life and that the wife and her family members, who live in Dehradun, should not harm them.
The petition, filed through lawyer Dharmendra Kumar, said the man and woman married in 2006 and have two children, both living with their mother in Dehradun, and the relationship has taken a turn for the worse. extent, the woman left her marital home in July 2019.
The plea said the woman filed a complaint against her husband at Dehradun Women’s Cell, where she also refused to return to her marital home.
He said the man had also filed for divorce in Dwarka District Court for cruelty. However, the woman preferred a transfer application to the Supreme Court and the case was transferred from Delhi to Dehradun and another plea is pending in court here.
The plea alleged that the woman and her family members wanted to extort money from them and in April this year they tried to break into the man’s house and used foul language and harassed them. threatened with dire consequences, including fake cases.
